Between work and socialising and keeping the house running, everyone can empathise with the feeling of losing control of a week’s schedule. This is often the case no matter how many calendars and diaries you have, and no matter how diligently you scribble appointments down in them. In fact, having a multitude of planners can exacerbate the problem by leading to double-booking and further confusion. When scheduling the week ahead perhaps you have to consult not only your personal pocket planner but also an in-house schedule at work, your Facebook events online, the family kitchen pin board at home, and a plethora of post-it notes peppered over the lot.
The scheduling tool from Doodle can help you bypass confusion and allow you to organise the weeks ahead with ease and simplicity. With a Premium Account on Doodle.com you can connect an online calendar to your account and view your appointments in one clear format. You can connect more than one calendar to your account, and Doodle will display it – along with any appointments you have made via Doodle – in one integrated format.
This schedule tool is particularly handy when it comes to scheduling events with Doodle polls. When you select potential dates to make an appointment with friends or colleagues, you will be able to simultaneously view the dates in your online calendar. This means that it’s impossible for you to mistakenly make a double-booking.
How to set up the online scheduling tool
It is remarkably easy to set this all up on Doodle.com. First you will need to register for a Premium Account. Although the Doodle free online scheduling tool allows you to create and respond to polls without having an account, you will be asked to pay a minimal annual fee to connect your calendar with Doodle. Once you have done this, you need to go to ‘Manage Doodle Account’ and then ‘Your Calendars.’
As you can see in the screenshot above, you can connect a Google Calendar, iCal or any other online calendar with an ICS feed to your Doodle account. This only takes a few moments. Once you have connected your calendar – or calendars – to your account you can view them at ‘Your Calendars.’ If for whatever reason you ever need to disconnect the calendars, you need only click on the little word ‘disconnect’ which you will next to each connected calendar.
Once you have done this you can scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on ‘Reset ICS Feeds’.
