2008

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Eight hours to go in 2008 (here in Zurich, at least) and therefore a good moment to look back at some of the Doodle highlights 2008:

  • Closed a financing round (on February 29th)
  • Acquired and activated doodle.com
  • Put our 26th translation online
  • Received several awards
  • Improved and extended Doodle in various ways: MyDoodle, timezone support, hidden polls, Google Gadget, Facebook app, improved calendar export, Redesign, etc.
  • Grew from 2 to 8 employees
  • Moved to a larger office twice
  • Tripled Doodle’s reach to more than 2 million users each month

Thanks to all our users, our customers and to everybody who supports us in one way or the other. Have a great 2009!

Doodle for Chrome and other improvements

Friday, December 19th, 2008

We just finished putting the latest Doodle release online. It features a number of improvements:

  • Doodle now also works properly with Google’s Chrome browser.
  • Doodle now stores the information you already entered when you choose to add a comment. Thus, after having added your comment to a poll, your information is still there and you can easily continue where you left off.
  • When you edit an entry in a poll, the browser jumps to the correct position in the table and centers conveniently on the input field where you’re supposed to edit your information.
  • When you create a new date/time poll and click on “Copy and paste first row”, your browser no longer jumps to the top of the page.
  • Mobile Doodle has been available since August and allows you to participate in an existing poll with your mobile phone. Now you can also create new polls using your mobile. Give it a try at m.doodle.com and send us your feedback!
  • Last but not least: Basque is Doodle’s 26th language. Thanks to Ander Goñi!
