Doodle iCal Connector

Access calendars and contacts

Start and answer meeting requests directly in the calendar interface. Your answers are automatically synched with your calendar.

Requires Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) oder newer and a Mac with an Intel CPU.

A free MyDoodle account is required to connect your calendar. Open account

Installation

    Save the DMG-file to your hard disk and mount it by double-clicking the DMG file. It should then show up in your Finder under "Devices" as "DoodleiCalConnector".

    Then drag the file inside the DMG to your Applications folder. After that, you can unmount the DMG file.

    Start the connector from your Applications folder by double-clicking it.

Usage

    The Doodle iCal connector lives in the Mac OS X menu bar as a small, blue “d” icon. Whenever you want to do something with the connector just click this icon.

    When you start the Doodle iCal Connector for the first time it will ask you to sign in to your free MyDoodle account.

    After you successfully authorized the Doodle iCal connector you can switch to the “Synchronization” tab and select the iCal calendars you want to synchronize.

    You can then click “Sync now” to manually trigger the synchronization or just wait for the auto-synchronization to happen.

    In order to check if the connector is working, you can go to Doodle.com and click on “View example”. Under the calendar tab you should be able to see the calendars and the events you synced with your MyDoodle account. You can then participate in the example poll. Next to the save button a dropdown-box should appear allowing you to select the calendar you want to save the poll’s result to.

    After participating, you can go back to the Doodle iCal Connector and synchronize again. If you open iCal the events from the example poll should appear in the calendar you selected.

Insights

    Synchronization happens automatically every 30 minutes. You can trigger synchronization manual by clicking on „Sync now“.

    We do not sync your whole calendar, only the past 30 days and 90 days into the future.

    Connected calendars and address books can also be removed on the Doodle homepage under “Manage Account”.

    The connector checks for updates automatically. You can change the frequency the connector checks for updates under the „Advanced“ tab.

    If you want to remove the connector you can use the uninstall script provided.
